It took unemployment for me to realize that as a recent college graduate I am not quite set up to fight for a job in this economy. My portfolio is way too long (and I mean clumsy like a teen boy on stilts!) and not set up to e-mail easily, I have nothing online, and I am planning on moving across the Atlantic soon. All of these are problems, and all of them could have been avoided had I taken into account the worst-case scenario when things were going well. This blog is my attempt to set myself straight and go back on the designer market with a bang.
I have a BA in Human Ecology from College of the Atlantic in Maine USA. Since graduating I have worked crappy jobs, awesome jobs that sadly had an end date, been self-employed in California, moved to Finland, looked into local politics, and started studying as I did not want any more bad jobs. Now I am soon to be a print graphics designer, and hopefully will work in the not-for-profit world.
