alarm clock sketch
pencil original, modified in Illustrator
2009

I was recently applying to modify some drawings onto silkscreens, and sent this as one of my samples. The important thing about creating images for a silkscreen is that there should be no midtones for the screen exposure to work well.

The Busfare Knits business card

Here is the first draft of my crafty business cards.

Currently I take orders by phone and e-mail only, and I will keep on posting updates on The Busfare Projects.

Today I started The Busfare Knits

Since my work contract terminated, and I became seriously under-employed, I have been working harder than ever. I realized that I simply could not afford the way too expensive public transportation, but that it is hard to find work if you don't go look for it.

Also, now I have all this time in my hands to explore the BEAUTIFUL SF Bay, and I figured I should try to really see as much as possible.

Here is my attempt at solving the problem. I knit all the time that I spend in the bus/BART, and log how many trips it takes for me to finish my knitting. This then becomes the cost of the final product.

So the arm warmers you see above, for example, are priced as follows

date.....busline(s)..fare
2/11/10....NL...........$4
2/11/10....11............$2
2/12/10...62/1.....$2.25
2/12/10...1/62.....$2.25
2/14/10....57...........$2
2/18/10....57...........$2
2/18/10....NL..........$4
material cost..........$4

Arm warmers (M/L)
$ 22.50

I hope this will work out to pay for itself...
